As you might know, I'm very geeky, and I love it. (Geek: 'one who is primarily motivated by passion,')
In this thread I will post titles, authors and a little review about comics I've read and want to share with you. Please comment! (Yes, some of the stuff might be from Wikipedia, but mostly, read hopefully, my own writing.) Enjoy.
The Sandman is a comic book series written by Neil Gaiman. First published in 75 issues from 1988 until 1996, and now in ten trade paperbacks. "It is widely considered one of the most original, sophisticated and artistically ambitious comic book series of the modern age and is the only comic book to ever win the World Fantasy Award. By the time of the series' conclusion, it had made significant contributions to the artistic maturity of English language comic books and become a pop culture phenomenon in its own right."
The author says this about the plot: “The king of dreams learns one must change or die and then makes his decision.” The main character in the story is Dream, Lord o[f the Dreaming. He is one of the seven Endless. The Endless (Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair and Delirium) have existed since the dawn of time and are thought to be some of the most powerful (or at least influential) beings in the Sandman universe. Their powers are reflected by their names.
The ten trade paperbacks are:
* Preludes and Nocturnes
* The Doll's House
* Dream Country
* Season of Mists
* A Game of You
* Fables and Reflections
* Brief Lives
* Worlds' End
* The Kindly Ones
* The Wake
The stories are beautiful and truly magnificent. Neil Gaiman is a great storyteller! The drawings are different from storyline to storyline as there is used different artist for each storyline. Some of the drawings are breath taking, while some other are OK. I urge you all to read this comic, atleast give Preludes and Nocturnes a try! It's absolutley worth it! I borrowed them all from Endre (Nashme), thanks! (I think he reads the forums). There are many spin-off series and fan made stuff aswell!

Lucifer is a comic book published by Vertigo. The series is about the adventures of the fallen angel Lucifer Morningstar on Earth, in heaven and through other realms of creation. Lucifer is as Sandman, first published in 75 issues and then published in 10 trade paperbacks. Mike Carey asked Neil Gaiman if there was any Vertigo character's he think Mike could write a spin-off serie about, and he simply said 'Lucifer'. Mike was not too sure and started talking about other Vertigo series and said 'Who else?', Neil said again 'Lucifer' and Lucifer it became.
We first meet Lucifer in Neil Gaiman's Sandman (see previous post), where he gives away the keys to the Gates of Hell to dream, and quits as the Lord of the Hell. We follow the time after he retires and all the tumoils that is causes and his opening of a piano bar 'Lux' in Los Angeles. After sometime the Morningstar opens a portal to his own universe begin to create as god. The Host of the Silver City (Heaven) declares war against him.
The list over the ten trade paperbacks.
1. Lucifer: The Devil In The Gateway
2. Lucifer: Children and Monsters
3. Lucifer: A Dalliance With The Damned
4. Lucifer: The Divine Comedy
5. Lucifer: Inferno
6. Lucifer: Mansions of the Silence
7. Lucifer: Exodus
8. Lucifer: The Wolf Beneath the Tree
9. Lucifer: Crux
10. Lucifer: Morningstar
11. Lucifer: Evensong
In my opinion, Lucifer is as good as the Sandman, but I think you should read the Sandman first. The drawings are a little bit like the ones in the Sandman, but some of the are terrible (but the story great) and some are even better than in Sandman. The reason why I compare it to the Sandman is because it's a spinn-off serie as explained. If you like the Sandman, I think you should read Lucifer!
The 300 comic is really good! And the movie adaption have captured it's soul and heart very nice!
And yeah, you should really have a go at Sandman! You should also check out Watchmen (the comic bible in the 80's) and V for Vendetta. Another series (one that is really cool, and a series girls would love too *points to Anne and Lianne*) is FABLES. Most will love it!
Oooo! And another thing!

I'm part of a Star Wars roleplaying forum, I'm roleplaying While Brann of Clan Fett. I had to be a Mando of course. I've been playing around with some artistry latley. Was a I make pictures thread over there and linked me to some sites where I could find bases/dolls that I could draw clothes on/dress up. Paper dolls really.
Here's what I did (copy of my thread over there):
I felt artistic so I tried to do one myself. Found a cool base [url}http://sera.orange-crux.net/]made by Sera (linkie)[/url].
I'm pretty pleased with how the Mandalorian armor turned out. The jedi's cloak is okey, but that hood is hard! Not sure how I were going to do the coloring in the folds etc. but I think it's not too bad for a first!
But the hair, durn, that's hard.. Especially since the Mando is based on my character (and myself, apperance wise), the dark blonde color.. *shudders* Anyways, I tried it:
I tried making one with a helmet as well. He dosen't have that tilt in the head anymore, I just didn't know how to get that to looks right, so now he looks right at 'ya.

So I got something called Jumpers Knee so I had to hand in my number and cannot become a Jeger. I little bummed, but I've changed my opinion alittle about it and I don't think I would fit as one. I might get a spot in the army's Special Commando, but hopefully I will become a minediver. We'll see what they can offer me. ^^ _________________ Ole-Wilhelm - While
